Objectives

Our curriculum is designed to correspond to the characteristics of local children, so that their right of decision-making is respected, while their curiosity and developmental stages can also be taken care of. We are committed to creating a well-regulated and inspirational learning environment that encourages children to speak up and voice out their opinions. Since one of our aims is to integrate learning into the everyday life of children, various organized, systematic and clearly-labelled teaching corners are created to stimulate children’s interest, motivation, participation and thinking. With our curriculum, children can develop to be an active and enthusiastic learner who is willing to try out new ideas, accept challenges, explore various learning processes, develop their potential and broaden their horizons. With these qualities, children can construct their knowledge progressively, strengthen their learning capabilities and develop an appropriate learning attitude, so that the foundation for life-long learning can be fostered.

Language

Ling Liang's English lessons have always been fun and interactive, where children learn through games and songs. Since 2020, we revamped our English curriculum and introduced a range of resources to enhance children's learning. Our new curriculum is story-based, using high-quality picture books to expand children's vocabulary and teach basic concepts. Our class library has expanded, and we now offer leveled readers and picture books for children to borrow.

Art

Our school advocates the concept of "promoting life education through arts and bringing arts education to life", emphasizing free expression and creation. Through a diverse range of art activities, including music, drama, dance and visual art, we aim to broaden our students’ understanding of art.

Free Play

Free play is the basic right of every child. We value allowing children the freedom to play without predetermined rules or guidelines. Free play is unstructured, voluntary, child-initiated, creative and improvised. Unstructured play allows children to engage in open-ended play that has no specific learning objective.

Christian Education

Our school is a Christian kindergarten with spiritual education at its core. We believe in the importance of teaching the truth to children at an early age so they can grow up in God’s love. In our kindergarten, children can learn about the Christian faith in a wholistic and engaging way and gradually build up their trust in God. They can develop good moral character through attending a variety of interesting activities during Bible study lessons and worship services.

Student Adaptation Initiatives

The students who are new to school have to adapt to an unfamiliar environment, overcome the anxiety of being temporarily separated from their families, and learn to get along with teachers and classmates. These are all new experiences and challenges for both the children and their parents.

Family and Student Support Services

Family and learning support has always been of great concern to our school. Therefore, we are devoted to offering support to non-Chinese speaking children, pre-school rehabilitation services and stationing social work services for children to support their needs in terms of families and learning.
